Your journey begins early, with a pickup from Hanoi arranged by Ha Giang Sisters.
You’ll arrive in Cao Banh, a quiet Dao village just outside of Ha Giang City. You’ll enjoy a home-cooked lunch.
After lunch, it’s time to rise into something new. You’ll spend the afternoon learning to ride a motorbike, guided by women who grew up on the roads of Ha Giang. It’s safe, supportive, and empowering — whether you’re brand new to bikes or just need a confidence boost. This isn’t just practice. It’s freedom on two wheels.
In the evening, you’ll share a home-cooked dinner made with local ingredients, then settle in for a restful night at Cao Banh Homestay. You’ll go to sleep with full bellies, and the growing confidence to hit the Loop the next morning.
-
After learning the basics in Cao Banh, it’s time to begin the journey—and this first stretch of the Loop is anything but ordinary.
You’ll ride through some of the most unforgettable scenery right away, passing Heaven’s Gate Pass, where jagged peaks meet endless sky and the road winds through limestone cliffs and open valleys.
Along the way, we’ll stop in Lung Tam, a small village known for its beautiful hemp linen, handmade by Hmong women using traditional techniques. You’ll see the process from plant to cloth and even try your hand at rolling out the linen, a skill that takes real balance and strength.
Next, we’ll curve over the twisting switchbacks of Tham Ma Pass and visit the Hmong King’s Palace, once home to the powerful Vuong family. The palace offers a meaningful glimpse into the region’s past and the resilience of its people.
By late afternoon, we’ll arrive at Sunrise Camping Dong Van, an exclusive, women-owned luxury glamping site tucked high in the mountains. Secluded and surrounded by sweeping views, it’s the perfect place to relax, connect, and take in the landscape under open skies.
-
Prepare to climb higher. Ma Pi Leng Pass, optional hike, and deepening cultural connection all come together.
Today’s journey takes you into the northern highlands, with winding mountain roads that lead to some of the most iconic views in all of Vietnam. We’ll cross the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, a breathtaking stretch of cliffside road overlooking the Nho Que River. For those who want an even bigger adventure, there’s an optional hike across some of the most spectacular viewpoints in the country.
Afterward, we’ll roll into Meo Vac for a well-earned local lunch, a chance to stretch, and soak in the market town’s vibrant energy.
In the afternoon, we’ll ride deeper into the mountains and descend into the lush valley of Du Gia, a quiet village surrounded by rice fields, green hills, and a slower pace of life. You’ll settle into a cozy homestay for the night, enjoy a home-cooked dinner, and rest up for the journey ahead.
-
After a peaceful morning in Du Gia — and a refreshing visit to the nearby waterfall — it’s time to begin the journey back. But this final stretch of the Loop is far from just a return.
You’ll ride through some of the most unforgettable scenery yet, winding through limestone cliffs, sweeping valleys, and quiet mountain passes. There will be plenty of breathtaking viewpoints along the way — the kind that make you want to slow down, breathe it all in, and remember why you came.
We’ll make a quick stop for gas and a rest in Ha Giang City, before heading back to Cao Banh, the Dao village where your journey began just a few days earlier.
Coming full circle, you’ll return with new skills, new connections, and a whole lot more confidence than when you started.
Please note that this itinerary may adjust slightly based on your guide’s discretion. Factors like group pace, weather conditions, transit delays, and other unexpected circumstances can sometimes shape the flow of the journey.
If you would prefer not to participate in motorbike skills training and would like to ride with one of our local guides instead, just let us know—we’re happy to arrange it for you.
